About Us

Our Story

From a budding idea in the mind of an entrepreneur from Oklahoma to an international name, Emu Therapy continues to grow on the tradition set in place by Blue Stuff and Blue Spring International. Our loyal consumer base throughout the United States and the world beyond have come to trust the products from these brands, and often let us know that they can't (or at least don't want to) live without them! Pain relief is our specialty, and we are interested in changing the lives of those who have been suffering from aches and pains for far too long.

As a family brand, we understand the stress you feel when watching a friend or loved one suffer from joint and muscle pain. It is our mission to prevent and reduce pain in the lives of people of all ages. Understandably, it can be a struggle to transform your lifestyle from inactive to active no matter what your age. We strive to make it easy and hope to give individuals the pain relief they need to become active again.

The Idea

A great Oklahoma businessman and entrepreneur, Jack McClung, is searching far and wide for the next big thing. He is first introduced to Emu Oil and its miraculous powers of instant relief at a State Fair. His creative ideas begin to flourish.

Jack experiments with Emu Oil and finds that it is a miracle for pain relief. Mixing the concoction in ketchup containers, he supplies the cream to customers at his local BBQ restaurant. After collaborating with an old friend on the ingredients, word begins to spread about Jack’s magical pain relief cream.

With new herbal ingredients in the mix, Jack finds that his pain relief formula works even better. He closes his BBQ restaurant and opens a “Pain Clinic” where he advertises free treatments. Jack originally called his brand new product “Emugesic Balm,” but his customers were itching for a more straight forward name - and this is how “The Blue Stuff” came to be.

1999 - 2000

Jack works long and hard to promote his new product. Through radio interviews, television commercials, and multiple celebrity testimonials, the state of Oklahoma is buzzing about The Blue Stuff.

A Household Name

Jack enlists the help of his daughter Debra, and continues to grow the company through infomercials. Like a blink of an eye, The Amazing Blue Stuff was the top running infomercial in the United States in 2002. Over $40 million is spent to make Super Blue Stuff pain relieving cream a household name.

Change in Leadership

Debra Murray takes over as President of the company and works to build her father’s business into a sustainable company. Her business, Blue Spring International (BLUESPRING), buys the assets of her father’s company, but continues to offer all Blue Stuff products directly to customers in the United States and Canada.

A Woman Owned Business

BLUESPRING becomes a Woman Owned Business through WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council). Debra joins numerous organizations to connect and mentor other women in business.

Customer Education

Debra wants the company to be responsible for bringing more educational material on healthy living to their consumers. BLUESPRING begins to produce a monthly mini-catalog to keep consumers informed on how to stay more active and avoid pain.

The Dream Lives On

Jack, the founder and inventor of The Blue Stuff, passes away, but Debra remains committed to the company and its loyal consumers. Numerous testimonials for the brand’s effectiveness were made in Jack’s honor.

A Digital World

Debra travels extensively and realizes that product outreach must change to fit a wide variety of consumers, including travelers and athletes. The BLUESPRING team creates a digital space that educates all consumers on the importance of healthy living, constant activity, and living every day to the fullest.

Emu Therapy Enters the Picture

Corporate changes are made to position BLUESPRING as a brand within the family of Emu Therapy. Emu Therapy begins to develop other brands of its own and to expand its reach to even more customers. The digital space is revamped once again to keep up with current trends and technology.
