Description
Description
The Cyclone Cane puts a new spin on walking support from top to bottom! The forward-facing design with the handle in front and the angled shaft keeps the user’s center of gravity over the foot of the cane, improving balance and safety. In fact, this cane is so well-balanced, it can stand on its own! No more need to lug around a bulky, heavy walker or other mobility device, and no more worrying about your cane sinking in soft soil or slipping on a wet surface.
The Cyclone Cane has a large, comfortable, latex-free padded handle that is easy to grip and secure to hold onto. The shaft is made of durable but lightweight aluminum so you can put all your trust and body weight - up to 300 lbs. - on this cane. The rubber Cyclone Foot adds more stability and grip as it channels water away from the cane with its unique tread pattern.
You can adjust the height of the Cyclone Cane easily and securely with a specialized clip that pops out to allow the shaft to be lengthened or shortened, and clicks back into place to securely hold the height you have set for it. The Cyclone Cane will adjust to fit each individual user without worrying about it slipping or failing when you put your full weight on it.

When you first get your Cyclone Cane, be sure to remove all the packaging. There will be some wrap to protect it during shipping, especially the handle, as well as product information and display materials. Be sure to read through the product information to get tips for the best use of your new cane!
After removing all packaging, it will be important to set the cane to the correct height. Near the foot of the cane, below the bend in the shaft, is a plastic clip that pops out to allow the shaft to adjust. Press the thumb tabs on either side of the clip toward the back of the cane, the side opposite of the handle. The clip will only slide out about 1/8", but you will be able to see the red caution indicator, showing that the clip is disengaged and the base tube is released. Extend the cane shaft until you can grip the handle, facing forward, with your hand just below your waist and holding your elbow at around a 15-30 degree angle. Adjust the base tube to find the nearest preset hole. There are white lines on the base tube midway between each preset hole that will make it easier for you to see where they are. When a white line is halfway covered, the clip will be lined up with a preset hole, so you can slide it back into place. You will hear a click when the clip is properly secured, and the red caution indicator will no longer be visible. Test the security of the clip by pressing down on the handle with the foot on the floor, but WITHOUT putting your weight on the cane. If the shaft moves, repeat the adjustment steps until you have successfully secured the clip with the cane at the proper height.
With the cane at the correct height, try walking around in a comfortable, familiar setting. Is the Cyclone Cane handle at a comfortable height? Are you able to put your weight on the cane as you walk without hunching over? Is your arm mostly extended with your elbow barely bent, giving you the strength you need to support yourself? If not, try adjusting the cane height again to better meet your needs.
Before each use, inspect the Cyclone Foot and remove any debris that may have accumulated, such as pebbles, mud, or other foreign objects that may interfere with proper traction. It is best to keep your cane clean with soap and water, but be sure it is dry before you use it again to avoid a slippery handle or foot.
After your purchase, check with your insurance provider to see if you can be reimbursed for the expense of your Cyclone Cane. Ask about code E0105.
FAQs
FAQs
HOW BIG IS THE CYCLONE CANE?
The Cyclone Cane measures around 31 inches tall when it ships and the handle is around 6 inches long and 2 inches wide. The Cyclone Foot measures 2.5 inches in diameter. Fully extended, the Cyclone Cane can reach 36 inches tall. It weighs just 1 lb. 3 oz.
HOW MUCH WEIGHT WILL THE CYCLONE CANE HOLD?
The Cyclone Cane is designed to bear weight up to 300 lbs. (136 kg).
WHY IS THE HANDLE IN FRONT OF THE CANE?
With Dynamo's forward-facing design, you get safer, more secure support from the Cyclone Cane. By placing the handle in front of the cane shaft and putting a bend in the shaft itself, the cane's center of gravity is placed directly over the unique Cyclone Foot of the cane. You can actually stand the cane on its foot without any other support! This balance means that when you use the cane, you will also have better balance and your center of gravity will naturally be over the foot, as well. This puts your weight and the strain on the cane shaft directly into the ground rather than pressing awkwardly on a cane tip that is either in front of or behind the center, which makes the tip likely to slip or slide, and potentially sets the user up for a fall.
WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THE CYCLONE FOOT?
You can think of the foot of your Cyclone Cane like the tire of a car or the tread of a shoe. Smooth rubber may be great on a flat, smooth surface in dry weather, but its grip goes away when there are other conditions, such as a spilled drink, loose pebbles, or other debris on the ground. How often do you walk in perfect conditions compared to how often you walk on less than ideal surfaces? The Cyclone Foot has a unique tread design that channels water away from the cane tip much like a tire's tread pushes water and other substances away from a car's wheel, allowing it to have proper traction in otherwise dangerous weather. The tread also includes spaces to allow the Cyclone Foot to securely reach the ground and provide traction, even on uneven surfaces like rocks and dirt.
The Cyclone Foot also has the benefit of a smaller area than some canes that have multiple arms stretching out from the central cane. While a wide end provides better traction than a narrow single tip, canes with a cage of multiple tips can extend too far from the cane, making it awkward to fit the cane in some areas such as stairs and make storage clumsy, as well. The Cyclone Cane brings the best of both worlds with a foot that is wide enough and stable enough to provide a secure grip while being nearly as narrow as the handle itself, not creating any significant challenges for placement or storage.
