This over-the-counter cream works fast for relief of pain in your neck, back, arms, legs, hands, feet, knees, elbows, hips, and shoulders, or anywhere else you need it!

Our formula harnesses the cooling properties of menthol, sourced from peppermint plants, providing effective pain relief without harsh chemicals. Feel the instant cooling sensation as you apply Cool Menthol Therapy to your aching muscles, delivering fast-acting therapy directly to the affected area for precise and localized treatment. Let the cooling power of menthol aid in reducing inflammation, promoting quicker recovery and addressing the root cause of discomfort and pain.

At 2.75% active menthol, Cool Menthol Therapy contains almost double the amount of menthol found in our blockbuster product, Super Blue Stuff OTC. While many people find relief, even life-changing relief, with Super Blue Stuff, some users are looking for a product with more menthol for a stronger dose of pain relief through this herbal powerhouse. For those people, Cool Menthol Therapy is just what they need! There are some other herbal ingredients included in Cool Menthol Therapy that don't appear in Super Blue Stuff, such as St. John's Wort and Capsicum Frutescens Fruit Extract, but many of the same ingredients are in both products.

You get to choose whether you want to use Cool Menthol Therapy on its own or in combination with our other great pain relief creams. Some days, one product may be all you need, and other days may call for both. Pain in your hands may respond better to one product than another, and pain in your legs may be the other way around. Pain in your back could take both together, and pain in your neck may need a different combination. Whatever it takes to get your pain under control, Emu Therapy is here to help with a variety of products using different active ingredients, combinations of herbs and oils, and concentrations of each. So try out a new product if you feel like you need something different, but rest assured that with Emu Therapy's 60-day money back guarantee you have nothing to lose but the pain itself!

Ingredients

Treat sore muscles with an effective, all-natural formula featuring ingredients like arnica, aloe vera, emu oil, capsicum, and more. Each jar contains 8oz of this powerful blend, helping you find relief with over a dozen herbal ingredients.

ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF (WHOLE LEAF ALOE VERA)

Since the times of ancient Egypt, aloe vera has been used as an herbal medicine that has become known across the world for its ability to heal and beautify skin, leading to uses in health and beauty regimens throughout the centuries.

Modern scientific research has confirmed what the ancients already knew: that aloe vera is an effective anti-inflammatory. In fact, it has been found to be more effective than 1% hydrocortisone cream.

We use only 100% Whole Leaf Aloe Vera in our formulas.

EMU OIL

Emu oil is a miracle of nature. Refined from the fat of the emu bird, this oil demonstrates outstanding medicinal properties and has been used for thousands of years by the Aboriginal peoples of Australia, long before Europeans settled the continent.

Emus are hardy animals, and can be raised without drugs such as steroids, antibiotics or growth hormones. Emu oil absorbs quickly into the skin, so it does not have a greasy feel and is non-comedogenic (does not clog pores). It does not contain irritants making it hypo-allergenic. When refined properly, emu oil does not have a strong odor, which lends it well toward skin care applications, especially around the face and visible areas.

Though the American FDA lists emu oil only as a moisturizer, studies have been done around the world and within the United States on the therapeutic effects of emu oil. Some studies have found that emu oil contains anti-inflammatory properties.

We use only top grade certified emu oil that is not over-refined, which can destroy fatty acids and other nutrients that make the oil work so well.

MENTHOL

Emu Therapy uses naturally derived menthol from the peppermint plant with a light peppermint smell. The FDA approves use of menthol as a pain reliever when included in a topical cream at specific levels.

Menthol applied to the skin stimulates the body’s cold receptors and generates a cool feeling. Because of this, menthol can be used to treat skin irritations, sunburn and muscle aches as well as arthritis and joint pain.

CAPSICUM FRUTESCENS FRUIT EXTRACT

Capsicum frutescens is a member of the nightshade family native to Central and South America. Capsaicin is the most well-documented part of the plant and is approved by the FDA as a pain reliever to be used in over-the-counter pain relief formulas today. Applied to the skin, capsaicin can give the sensation of heat, similar to when someone eats spicy peppers and feels their mouth begin to "burn." Because of the sensitivity to this ingredient, we put a small amount in Cool Menthol Therapy so as to not overpower the cooling effect of menthol.

METHYSULFONYLMETHANE (MSM)

MSM, or methylsulfonylmethane, appears naturally in small amounts in every cell of the body. It is necessary for healthy cells. (Please note: this compound is not the same as sulfa, an anti-bacterial agent. People with sulfa related allergies will not experience the same reaction to MSM).

When used on the skin, MSM helps with absorption and carries with it ingredients soluble in water such as herbs. It also increases lubrication of joints by attracting water-based fluids to the affected area.

ARNICA MONTANA FLOWER EXTRACT

Arnica Montana is an herb with a large, yellow blossom resembling a daisy that is native to certain mountainous regions in Europe. It grows in soil that is not friendly to many other plants. For thousands of years it has been used as a medicinal plant, and today it is often grown in herb gardens.

In the Roman culture, Arnica was used as early as 180 B.C. for aches and pains in muscles and joints, and was even found to ease the pain of broken bones.

Modern research has found that Arnica Montana in the right concentration can have the same pain relieving effect on osteoarthritis as ibuprofen gel.

CORIANDER FRUIT OIL (CORIANDRUM SATIVUM)

Long found in the presence of civilization, in 1670, the coriander plant was brought to North America by the British colonists. It has been used for rheumatism and neuralgia muscle and joint pain.

Coriander oil displays properties that reduce inflammation and spasms and helps to relieve stiffness while promoting circulation. Coriander oil is often included in herbal remedies to fight bacteria and restore health.

CORNFLOWER (BLUEBOTTLE) EXTRACT (CENTAUREA CYANUS)

The bright blue Cornflower or Bluebottle plant has been used throughout history for its various medicinal properties. Common to North America as a wildflower, it promotes health in a variety of ways. The extract has been used traditionally to soothe irritated skin, help reduce swelling and joint pain, as well as to relieve anxiety.

GERMAN CHAMOMILE (CHAMOMILLA RECUTITA) EXTRACT

German chamomile extract has been used to treat disorders as varied as fibromyalgia and bacterial skin conditions. It has also been used by patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment to prevent and reduce the swelling that often comes as a side effect of these therapies.

LIMETREE EXTRACT LINDEN (TILIA SYLVESTRIS EXTRACT)

Linden trees characteristically have heart-shaped leaves and beautiful flowers, but the plant is also quite useful! The flowers contain oils, tannins, and mucilage, which have all been found to provide healing for different maladies. The extracts from Linden flowers and bark are used in herbal remedies, beginning in Europe. Its provides aid in fighting bacteria, inflammation, and anxiety.

MARIGOLD EXTRACT (CALENDULA OFFICINALIS EXTRACT)

Marigold flowers have been seen in European gardens for almost 1,000 years. As early as the 14th century, the many benefits of the marigold for medicine were being discovered. Marigold blooms were often made into a poultice and/or infused into oils so that they could be applied to wounds and prevent infection during the American Civil War and World War I. Modern herbalists have found them useful as an alternative analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, astringent, bactericide, carminative, depurative, diuretic, emmenagogue, stomachic, styptic, and tonic.

NETTLE EXTRACT (LAMIUM ALBUM)

White nettle has been used to reduce excessive blood flow for centuries. It can be used internally for problems with the bladder and urinary system. It can also improve varicose veins, and be applied to reproductive issues for both men and women.

ROMAN CHAMOMILE (ANTHEMIS NOBILIS) OIL

Roman chamomile flower heads contain compounds known for anti-inflammatory properties and muscle relaxation. Roman chamomile can also help relieve rheumatic disorders such as arthritis. When used together with other herbs, Roman chamomile extract can be a powerful medicinal tool.

ST. JOHN'S WORT (HYPERICUM PERFORATUM)

St. John's Wort is a well-known medicinal herb that has been used for thousands of years, dating back to ancient Greece. Taken internally, it aids with mental health and hormonal issues such as menopause. Used topically, St. John's Wort helps to heal wounds, bruises and pain in the muscles.

WITCH HAZEL EXTRACT

Witch hazel leaves, bark, and twigs are used as medicine in a variety of situations. When applied to the skin, witch hazel can relieve inflammation, varicose veins, minor burns, bruises, and itching. Tannins in witch hazel have been used to reduce swelling, repair skin damage, and battle bacteria hundreds of years ago and still are today.

WILLOW BARK EXTRACT (SALIX ALBA)

Similar to the modern medicine aspirin, Willow Bark Extract has been used historically as a pain reliever. It was likely recommended by Hipprocrates in ancient Greece, whom we continue to venerate as an early father of medical care. Muscle pain, back pain, osteoarthritis, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, and headaches are known to respond to treatment with willow bark extract.

Though manufactured aspirin is often accompanied by serious side-effects, natural willow bark is seen by many as a safer alternative. We use only natural Willow Bark (Salix Alba).

ASCORBYL (VITAMIN C) PALMITATE

Vitamin C ester can be used in skin care and health care. It is a potent antioxidant, and it also softens skin and promotes the creation of collagen as it moisturizes.

Directions

Over the years, we have come across several pointers that make using our natural pain relief creams the most effective. While each user should be conscious of their own pain and how their body responds to pain (and treatment for pain), these suggestions have been gathered from hundreds of people giving feedback and sharing their stories of success with our products. Feel free to take these ideas and make them your own, and we welcome your testimonials and explanation of how you have used Blue Stuff, BLUESPRING, and Emu Therapy products to find natural relief from the aches and pains of life.

DIRECTIONS FOR BEST USE TO ACHIEVE QUICK PAIN RELIEF:

  • Apply thin coats more frequently instead of a large amount at one time.
  • Pressure points - in addition to the area in pain, apply to the pressure point below and above the pain.
  • If pain does not subside within 5 minutes, re-apply immediately. Re-apply until pain subsides - pain is different for each individual.
  • For a joint, such as a knee, elbow, or wrist - apply all the way around the joint and at least one or two inches surrounding the joint.
  • For hands or feet - cover the area evenly with a thin coat plus apply to the wrist or ankle to ensure full coverage.
  • For a large area such as the lower back - apply in a circular motion traveling just outside the area to make sure you have achieved full coverage.
  • Apply before bedtime - many of our customers have reported that applying prior to bedtime delivers a more restful night.
  • Use less over time - Super Blue Stuff OTC seems to have a cumulative effect - over time you may need less. When you notice this, continue to apply in the morning and just before bedtime - this will help you maintain the relief you have gained.

LOOKING TO BOOST YOUR PAIN RELIEF?

Emu Therapy offers several products that highlight one key ingredient beyond what is included in our primary pain relief cream Super Blue Stuff OTC. We call these our Booster Line of products because they give a boost to the ingredient they feature.

  • Cool Menthol Therapy is for our customers who need more menthol. This product has almost double the level of menthol found in Super Blue Stuff OTC.
  • Arnica Cream Booster is for those who need an herbal boost of Arnica with its specific effects on the body.
  • Red Hot Pepper Pain Relief Cream provides a strong and long-lasting feeling of heat from the capsaicin active ingredient.

These products deliver a boost to your pain relief only when and where it is needed. Boosters will give you the ability to uniquely customize relief for your own pain, whether it changes from day to day or based on where on your body you need relief.

Cool Menthol Therapy is an over-the-counter drug, so it will deliver powerful pain relief on its own. However, you can still use it in combination with Super Blue Stuff OTC if you find that works best for your needs. New customers may want to try Cool Menthol Therapy alone at first and then experiment with how much of each product seems to deliver the best results. Recommended steps for combining products are:

  1. Apply a normal amount of Super Blue Stuff OTC.
  2. While the product is still wet on the skin, add approximately 1/4 that amount of Cool Menthol Therapy and spread it out across the same area.
  3. Wait 5 minutes to see how you feel.
  4. Repeat the process if more relief is needed, but increase the amount of Cool Menthol Therapy to 1/2 of the amount of Super Blue Stuff used.
  5. Repeat again and continue to increase the amount of Cool Menthol Therapy used until you feel the relief you need.
  6. If you ever feel the Cool Menthol Therapy application has been too much, decrease the amount used the next time you apply it. In extreme cases, you may feel the need to get the product off your skin immediately. To remove the product from your skin completely, you should wash with warm soapy water. Some of the product oils may stubbornly remain on the skin. If you experience this and want the product removed, try soaking the body part in warm soapy water until the sensation subsides.

This trial and error process may take some time to find just the right balance, but once you know what works, you can start with those levels the next time you need relief from your pain.

Warnings: For external use only. Do not use on wounded, damaged or irritated skin. When using this product, avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes, do not bandage tightly. If pregnant or Breast-Feeding, ask a health professional before use. Consult a doctor before use on children under 12 years of age if arthritis conditions are present. For all other listed uses, consult a doctor before use on children under 2 years of age. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

FAQs

WHAT DOES COOL MENTHOL THERAPY PAIN RELIEF CREAM DO?

Cool Menthol Therapy Pain Relief Cream is designed to combat pain with the proven effects of menthol while also helping to decrease inflammation through the action of emu oil and other ingredients. It also soothes and hydrates the skin leaving it refreshed and rejuvenated. It can be used as you feel pain increase or it can be applied proactively to ward off chronic or anticipated pain, such as from a workout or other physical exhertion.

HOW DOES COOL MENTHOL THERAPY WORK?

Cool Menthol Therapy is a custom combination of natural ingredients including menthol, arnica, capsicum, emu oil, aloe vera, MSM, and more. Each ingredient has its own unique benefits, but together they become greather than the sum of the parts, creating a powerful natural cream that works to reduce inflammation, soothe dull aches, and block pain. Menthol is approved by the United States FDA as a counterirritant, meaning that the effect it has on the body overrides pain sensations, leaving the user with only the feeling of the menthol on the skin.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COOL MENTHOL THERAPY AND SUPER BLUE STUFF OTC?

Super Blue Stuff OTC is a topical pain relief cream. It can be applied to any external part of the body. Massage it in to the affected area and in just a few minutes, you will start to feel relief from arthritis, muscle aches, joint pain, bruising, sprains and much more.

Cool Menthol Therapy is also a topical pain relief cream, but is formulated with nearly double the level of menthol (2.75% in Cool Menthol Therapy compared to 1.4% in Super Blue Stuff OTC). The higher level of menthol makes Cool Menthol Therapy a sort of "Extra Strength" formulation, and can be used in the place of Super Blue Stuff for those who find the stronger concentration to be just what they need. However, there are also other differences between the formulas, including some ingredients in Cool Menthol Therapy that are not included in Super Blue Stuff, namely Capsicum Frutescens Fruit Extract and St. John's Wort. Both of these ingredients bring their own herbal effects with them and add to the synergy of ingredients in their own specific ways. Still, not all users are seeking the properties of the Cool Menthol Therapy formula, and so Super Blue Stuff OTC remains as a distinct product, serving the needs of many thousands of satisfied customers.

WHEN DO I USE COOL MENTHOL THERAPY?

Cool Menthol Therapy Pain Relief Cream can be used anytime you are feeling pain, but also when you anticipate pain due to circumstances or activities. With no negative side effects, there is no risk of "overdose" or any serious problems if you apply the product before it is needed; many times, staying ahead of the pain cycle is easier than catching up after soreness has already set in. Menthol takes effect quickly, and users can expect to feel relief from pain often within minutes. It can also be great to use before bed to soothe aching joints and muscles that can make falling asleep or staying asleep a challenge.

DOES COOL MENTHOL THERAPY HAVE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

Cool Menthol Therapy is made from safe, natural ingredients. It is fine to use it repeatedly, even over a long period of time, with no negative side effects.

WHAT IS IN COOL MENTHOL THERAPY PAIN RELIEF CREAM?

Cool Menthol Therapy is a proprietary formula made of natural ingredients from around the world including menthol, MSM, arnica, aloe vera, emu oil, cornflower, witch hazel bark, willow bark, capsicum frutescens, white nettle, coriander oil, marigold, and limetree. Each ingredient has been used, in some cases for centuries or even thousands of years, to provide relief in different ways: some to reduce swelling, others to relieve pain, still others for circulation, moisturizing and more. When combined in the right percentages, these natural wonders work together to provide an amazing experience you have to feel to believe.

SHOULD I WASH MY HANDS WHEN USING COOL MENTHOL THERAPY?

It is recommended as follows:

  • Apply Cool Menthol Therapy to clean, dry skin with clean hands.
  • Avoid touching eyes, mouth and other sensitive skin areas or eating finger foods until your hands have been washed.
  • Wash your hands with warm soapy water after applying to skin so that any residue on the hands is removed and won't be transferred to areas that need to be avoided.

SHOULD I BE CONCERNED IF MY COOL MENTHOL THERAPY PAIN RELIEF CREAM WAS EXPOSED TO VERY HOT OR VERY COLD TEMPERATURES DURING DELIVERY?

Cool Menthol Therapy goes through an exacting stability testing process as part of our manufacturing, which includes exposing it to temperature extremes for long periods of time. While there is a limit to how long the product will resist degrading, test results show that the time it takes to arrive after being shipped from our US-based distribution center should not make a noticeable difference in the quality of the product you receive. Some tips for knowing how to handle product questions that may arise are:

  • If your product seems to be less thick and creamy than you expect it to be, it may have been in the heat for a very long time or the heat may have been excessive (above 95-100 degrees Farenheit). It should return to a standard consistency at room temperature. Try storing it in a cool enclosed space such as a medicine cabinet or bathroom drawer in an air-conditioned area for a few hours before checking it again.
  • If your cream appears to have clumps or lumps it may have been through extreme cold and begun to congeal more than normal. Set the jar out so that it can return to room temperature for a few hours, then shake it vigorously, making sure that the lid is screwed on securely beforehand. Once the product has warmed back up and been mixed sufficiently, the consistency should appear normal.

In any case, the effectiveness of the ingredients in Cool Menthol Therapy will not have been impacted.

AFTER I USED COOL MENTHOL THERAPY, I NOTICED AN UNUSUAL REACTION, LIKE AN ALLERGY OR RASH. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

While this is a very rare event, if you notice any type of negative reaction to Cool Menthol Therapy Pain Relief Cream, stop use right away and take the following action(s):

  • Contact a medical professional if you are concerned about your reaction.
  • If the reaction poses a serious threat, call an emergency medical number.

In both cases, keep the product jar available so that you can discuss the ingredients with a professional and potentially identify what may have caused the reaction.
